Hi Friends! Here’s What I’m About:
A decade ago, I landed my dream job: an editor at a glossy print food magazine. This is what I had been waiting for. I was Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada. Kate Hudson in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Maybe even Jennifer Garner in 13 Going on 30. Finally, finally, my life was starting. The movie had begun. I had been patient. I had been good. I had stayed true to the dream. And now, I’d be rewarded.
Except, real life is not like the movies.
Instead of empowerment, I found perfectionism. Instead of “healthy living,” I found control. Instead of clarity, I found a culture obsessed with shrinking bodies, appetites, and ambition.
I’m now writing a memoir about what it was really like to work inside a glossy “healthy eating” magazine at the height of the clean-eating boom — and how that world quietly reshaped the way so many of us think about food, wellness, and worth.
It’s about celery juice and clickbait. About ambition and insecurity. About the girlboss era, and what it cost us. About how an industry that promised health often traded in anxiety instead.
Stay up-to-date
Every week, I’m sharing new excerpts of my memoir-in-progress, so you can follow along with the juiciest tidbits from what it was really like to work at a “healthy eating” magazine.

Raise your hand if you’ve been personally victimized by diet culture. (If you heard that in Regina George’s voice, you’re my people.) We’re unpacking that here every week. I’d love to hear your stories in the comments or in the group chat.
